Adare Ogham Stones There are five ogham stones situated in a small grove on the grounds of Adare Manor. At least two of the stones. numbers 1 and 5, were found in a soutterain at Rockfield in Kerry, and subsequently used in the building of a cottage at Laharan. Lord Dunraven had them moved to his mansion here in Adare. Recently the grove has been cleared and the ogham stones have been cleaned and re-rected. It was also discoverd that the stone lying between stones 3 and 4 actually bear an unsual early christian carving. The carving was noticed by Robert Harris and Finola Finlay of roaringwaterjournal.com It is believed the stone originally came from close to a ringfort in Ballydavid, on the Dingle peninsula, County Kerry.
